The Edmund Rice Camp project started in 1990 in Dunedin. The Movement started in Melbourne in the 1980s. Edmund Rice Camps are now run throughout Australia as well as Ireland, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania These camps provide a week long break for children who need a holiday due to their family, financial or social circumstances. Now there are two groups in New Zealand which offer camps - Dunedin and Auckland.

Vinnies are young people who help less fortunate people in their local parish area!
Just like any member in the SVdP, Vinnies help people who are less fortunate in their parish area and sometimes beyond. Working together within their community they decide what they want to do and go out and do it! The needs are endless and the help Vinnies give are endless.

CathSoc is a tertiary students organisation encompassing all the various Catholic tertiary groups.
Our aim is to encourage and give the opportunity to students at the tertiary level to be part of the Catholic community, be they at Varsity, Teacher's College, Polytech or any tertiary institutes.
We work closely with the Catholic university chaplains and are also part of the Combine Christians Group (CCG) at the University of Otago.
We welcome you to participate and get involve in the Catholic student side of life. It presents as a good opportunity to meet like-minded people, to grow in faith in a supportive environment and also to create a network of friends. All are welcome, Catholics and non-Catholics alike. Feel free to drop into any of our meetings. We believe that you will find us welcoming, diverse, and caring bunch of people.
